Commissie van Toewijzing
Do you feel you should be given priority on housing over other students because of groundend personal circumstances? If so, you can submit a request for housing priority to the "Commissie van Toewijzing"(CvT). The CvT consists of three students who meet about once every three weeks. SSH& takes care of the administration. This committee considers each request for priority individually and then decides on whether someone will be allocated housing with priority. Only in very exceptional situations will you be allocated a room with priority.

You can apply for:
- A regular room or apartment
- A modified apartment, suitable for students with a handicap (f.e in a wheelchair)
- Or for an apartment suitable for a mother and child(ren).
You can submit your request for urgency easily via our website. Just fill in the form at the bottom of this page. However, before you do so, we advise you to read the information below carefully. These steps below describe what you need to fill in the form.
Step
Describe your situation
The members of the committee do not know you or your situation. Therefore, it is important that you paint a clear picture of your situation. We understand that it is difficult to share (sensitive) personal information, but it is necessary for applying for urgency. The more clear you describe the situation, the better the committee can come to a right decision. The committee would also like to know how your situation is hindering you in your search for a room. And how the situation affects your studies. Keep in mind that the committee consists of three students and that they may not be familiar with certain medical terms. The committee only considers applications submitted by the person requesting the urgency.
Step
Provide the right evidence
We also ask for (recent) proof that substantiates the situation. Do not send your request until you have attached all requested documents, because only with the right proof will the committee consider your application. The kind of documents we wish to receive are:
- Proof that you belong to our
target group belong, i.e. validproof of study - Evidence of your own search: the committee wants to know what you have already done to find accommodation yourself. Print screens of responses to advertisments at SSH& and at other organizations will suffice (with response dates, so that we can see how long you've been searching). If you can't demonstrate that you consistently respond to ads, explain why. This 'evidence of search' is mandatory, regardless of the reason for your urgency request.
- If you request for urgency for medical reasons, we will need proof from your physician and/or psychologist (not a general practitioner).
- Are you requesting an apartment for you and your child(ren)? Make sure you have a pregnancy certificate and/or birth certificate at hand.
Please note: you cannot submit an application without any proof.
It is also good to know that you cannot request for urgency if the situation is temporary, such as with an injury, or when your relationship is over. Also, a long travel time is not a reason for the committee to assign you a room withpriority.
