Are you dissatisfied about something?

If you are dissatisfied with something, please let us know. We are sure to find an agreeable solution together. Here is what you can do if you are dissatisfied about something.

Are your roommates or neighbours bothering you?
Have you talked to the troublemaker about this? That is the first step you take in such a case. We find that it is often resolved faster if you contact the causer yourself.

Has this not helped? Then pass on your nuisance report to us (for example about noise nuisance, annoyance about cleaning standards, bullying or intimidation). SSH& will then provide support and can mediate in such a case and possibly report your nuisance report to Neighbourhood Mediation.
Of course, you can also contact Buurtbemiddeling Nijmegen or Arnhem directly.

Form for reporting a nuisance

Are you dissatisfied with other things, such as the service provided by SSH& or a company with which SSH& cooperates?

Then you can file a complaint with us.

Step

1

What is a complaint?

In a complaint, you let it be known in writing that you are dissatisfied with something. The complaint may be about one of the following subjects:

  • Attitude and behaviour of an SSH& employee
  • Services offered by SSH&
  • Services provided by a company with which SSH& cooperates
  • Rental and service costs
  • Housing allocation and rental
  • Liveability

A complaint should not be about:

  • nuisance from your housemates or neighbours. That’s what a nuisance report is for. You can use the form to report a nuisance.
  • Something to be repaired in your home. To do this, you need to submit a repair request.

Step

2

Get in touch with SSH&

The first step is to attempt to resolve the issue with an SSH& staff member. Please contact SSH& via infosshnnl or call us on the phone number (024) 359 49 39 You can also go and see your caretaker. In principle, he or she is your first point of contact. They regularly make their rounds or can be found in their offices. Please refer to Ask Simon for info for your caretaker and the cluster office.

Step

3

Filling the complaint

It may be that you are unable to work it out with the SSH& employee. Then the next step is to file a complaint. You can do this easily using the complaints form below.

How to contact the Complaints Committee or the Dutch Rent Commission

Have you gone through all the above steps, but don't agree with the decision taken by the complaint handler? Then you can submit the complaint to the Complaints Committee or the Dutch Rent Commission.

The Complaints Committee is independent. They do require you to provide them with the SSH& decision. You must therefore first submit your complaint in writing to your own housing corporation and your own corporation must have had the opportunity to handle the complaint. The objective of the Complaints Committee for Housing Corporations in Nijmegen and the surrounding area is to issue independent advice on complaints in order to contribute to the functioning of the corporations.

Please note
That the procedure at the Complaints Committee is entirely in Dutch. We advise you to ask your educational institution for assistance in translating the complaint you want to submit and for translating the outcome. Or perhaps you can ask a fellow student who speaks Dutch for help.

Complaints that are not handled by the Complaints Committee involve complaints about rent increases, maintenance and settlement of service and heating costs. These complaints are handled by the Dutch Rent Commission.
